Almet Music Lab is the first Turkic music laboratory taken place in Almetyevsk. It was attended by students, young musicians and professionals in the field of ethno-music.
During the week, master classes on the technique of playing traditional Turkic musical instruments were held for the participants of the laboratory. Enthusiasts were given a unique opportunity to use the collection of the Exhibition of Turkic Musical instruments (plucked and bowed strings, woodwinds, percussion) to create compositions. To record the composed material, a mobile recording studio was placed in a real yurt (an authentic replica of the Volga Bulgaria dwelling). The creation of a number of songs in the traditional Turkic genres of bayit, munajat, ozyn koy, takmak, but on current poetic themes was the result of this joint work of Kazan musicians, exhibition staff and students of the Almetyevsk Music College. The album has absorbed a unique author's material, which is a synthesis of the ancient musical culture of the Volga region and its modern interpretation.
